I used to be a fan of David Holmes but after he decided not to turn up on saturday , i learnt lesson no.1 in how to alienate and piss off your fans.
There only were about 40 people there -- maybe he knew and took a raincheck.
The light surgeons @ the waterfront , on the other hand , were amazing and it was FREE !!

I thought the Light Surgeons was poor. The set-up was impressive and the music was quite good but the narrative near bored me to death. It masqueraded as some poignant & profound examination of the American psyche but really was just a series of platitudes about how Native American culture is dying out and how the government isn't telling the truth about 9/11 etc. I cringed at how glaringly obvious & out-of-date it all seemed.

Well, they did admit they've been playing it for the last 5 or so years…
So, definitely out of date. Smile

I thought they were awesome. Especially that track at the end with the stlised road and all the thousands of symbols comin @ ya ! Its the kinda light show i could only envisage for my act in my wildest dreams , where i am also accosted by a scantily clad scarlett johannsen and charlize theron ( thats more likely to happen than me putting on a lightshow that rivals the surgeons )
Granted : the narrative was a bit dull in places but the eye-candy made up for it. I only went to get some ideas for visuals i could use in a live setting with my music , and although i got some ideas , they'll look very spartan compared to their show -- best of all , it was free !! cant really complain since they went to all the effort and we paid nada !
